Thakulestryxx
"...And so, willed forth by our great mother, dragons soared through the skies, great wyrms carried by great wings through the blistering hot air as fire scorched the heavens themselves. Greatest of these was the leviathan Thakulestryxx, a being so massive that mountains trembled in his wake. By the mighty wyrmfather's command, the great sky-serpents halted the advance of the storm, Naradun's skies once again returning to a tranquil blue as the fire died out on their whim."
- Excert from the Libram of Myths Volume III
The fabled dragon father, herald of Gai-Tentotu. Thakulestryxx is a being considered by most to be nothing but myth, as no one still alive today can ever recall having witnessed any sign of dragons ever soaring through the skies of Naradun. Rumored to be the only mortal beings to directly serve Gai-Tentotu's direct commands, dragonkin are said to dwell deep beneath the earth all over Naradun, only to emerge when the world itself is in peril.
Thakulestryxx is, according to myth, the first dragon ever born, and clearly the strongest, wisest and largest of them all. Ancient legends speak of his gargantuan shape blocking out the sun as he soared through the skies during the apocalypse in the past, and tales of the past would have it his mighty voice caused earthquakes as he spoke. He, along with his wyrmkin, were according to religious history the beings who saved the entire world from annihilation caused by the champions of light and darkness and Naar's meddling. Many, perhaps all lesser dragons, fell to the overwhelming chaotic storms raging across the continents at the time, which would undoubtedly explain their absence in modern times.
Thakulestryxx is rumored to have aided Narkhun and Kurveldross in the final battle against the chaos demon Smergh though, and that without him, the outcome of the battle could have been entirely different. Neither Kurveldross or Narkhun have confirmed this. Then again they have not denied it.
If the ancient tomes of religious history are to be believed, Thakulestryxx at some point buried himself somewhere in the western continent, believed to slumber underneath great mountains in case Smergh should at any point break free from his eternal prison.
Like other dragons though, Thakulestryxx is worldwide discarded as nothing but a bedtime story. It has been far too long since the apocalypse for anyone to remember, and the written word descending from that time is subject to doubt and disbelief. It is written though, in the holiest of books on all continents, that dragons indeed did exist, and are to thank for halting the apocalypse, thus providing the new generations of mortals with hope for a future.
